Getting Started with ApexAnalytics

Welcome to ApexAnalytics! This quick start guide will help you set up and begin using the software effectively for your race engineering needs.

First Steps

1. Installation

If you haven’t already installed ApexAnalytics, follow our Installation Guide for step-by-step instructions.

2. Initial Setup

The first time you launch ApexAnalytics, you’ll be guided through a setup wizard:

  1. License Activation: Enter your license key or connect your hardware dongle
  2. User Profile: Create your engineering profile with name and preferences
  3. Team Settings: Configure team information and branding
  4. Data Sources: Set up connections to your timing and telemetry systems
  5. Workspace Configuration: Customize the interface layout for your workflow

3. Connecting to Data Sources

ApexAnalytics works with a wide range of timing and data acquisition systems:

  1. Go to Settings > Data Sources
  2. Click Add New Source
  3. Select your timing system type from the dropdown
  4. Follow the configuration steps for your specific system
  5. Test the connection with the Verify button

Creating Your First Session

1. Start a New Session

  1. Click File > New Session
  2. Enter the session details:
    • Event name
    • Track name
    • Session type (Practice, Qualifying, Race)
    • Date and time
    • Weather conditions (optional)
  3. Click Create

2. Connect to Live Timing

  1. In the Connection Manager panel, select your timing source
  2. Click Connect
  3. Once connected, you’ll see the timing grid populate with data

3. Track Map Setup

  1. Go to View > Track Map
  2. Choose from available track layouts or import a custom track map
  3. Adjust settings for:
    • Car icons and labels
    • Sector boundaries
    • Pit lane location
    • Camera angles
